Cam Burns
Cam Burns is a Saint Louis based music producer with a formal education in Songwriting and Audio Production. He believes in the power of music to share ideas and collaborate with artists from various walks of life. He is seeking an opportunity to help realize and enhance artists' sonic identity to better connect with their audience in a competitive market.
About
Cam Burns began his career in Kansas City, performing on stages including Starlight Theatre, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, and the Folly Theater. He began developing his voice as a writer through the Coterie Playwriting Roundtable, collaborating with playwrights from across the Kansas City area. During this time, he also established himself in the local film community, earning Best Young Actor awards from the Los Angeles Film Awards (2020), New York Film Awards (2020), Actors Awards, Los Angeles (2020), and Oniros Film Awards (2019), as well as Best Duo (with Katie Coryell Hall) at the Actors Awards, Los Angeles (2020) for his performance as Sam in Letters from a Father.
In 2021, Cam relocated to St. Louis to attend Webster University, where he served as an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Music. In this role, he collaborated with faculty and students to coordinate staffing, logistics, and programming for hundreds of departmental recitals and performances. He was named the 2026 Student Employee of the Year in recognition of his commitment to supporting students and fostering collaboration between the music and audio production programs.
While at Webster, Cam joined the St. Louis funk band Eldraco + FreeNation as Lead Background Tenor. With the group, he has opened for artists including Leon Thomas and Patti LaBelle and performs regularly throughout the St. Louis region at festivals, concerts, and on television. Under the guidance of bandleader Eldraco Price, Cam developed a collaborative artistic instinct, working alongside filmmakers, audio engineers, dancers, visual artists, and sculptors to create interdisciplinary performances and productions.
Inspired by these experiences, Cam produced his first professional music video, Doublespeak, bringing together collaborators from Webster University's film, dance, audio, and songwriting programs. The project was supported by a comprehensive promotional campaign spanning Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook, as well as live promotional events at venues throughout St. Louis. As a songwriter and performer, Cam continues to present new music across Missouri, appearing at venues and festivals including Black Box, RINO, the St. Louis Fringe Festival, Blue Strawberry, and the Saint Louis Art Museum.
Cam graduated in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Music in Composition (Emphasis in Songwriting) and a Bachelor of Science in Sound Recording and Engineering from Webster University. He currently works as an audio engineer, providing production services for artists and events throughout the region, and serves as an intern at the Saint Louis Recording Club under the mentorship of Carl Nappa.
